‘TIS THE SEASON…
And we are all ready to be jolly! With Thanksgiving past and Christmas right around the corner it is time to sit back and enjoy all the wonderful things the season has to offer. This coming month is full of wonderful things to do, lots of Christmas concerts of all sorts, including boy and girl scouts, church choirs, trips to Lights on the Lake and to see downtown Syracuse. Keep an eye out for new additions to the calendar, there will be other events added! While we are all really looking forward to the upcoming festivities, there is one thing that we can definitely wait for, that four letter word…SNOW. As long as Mother Nature wants to give us these mild days, we will take them with pleasure! The activities this month will certainly keep everyone busy and we will end the month in style with a wonderful Prime Rib Feast and Christmas Party to celebrate the holiday! We hope to see you all there!

Let’s Give Thanks
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it is a wonderful opening to the holiday season! We all are lucky to have so many things to be thankful for and the blessing of loved ones around to spend time with. One small thing we all have to look forward to and be thankful for is the extra hour of sleep we can all get on November 6th when we “Fall Back” for Daylight Savings Time. Make sure you set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday, November 5th! Now that most of the leaves have fallen and the weather is turning cooler and there may be some bad weather in the forecast, it is time to settle in for the winter. The warmth of the holiday season makes up for the cold outside. On the day before Thanksgiving Park Terrace will host a fun and festive Traditional Thanksgiving Feast. This is a wonderful day of Family and Fellowship that we look forward to every year. In addition to that, there are a couple of lunches out this month, a music show performed by the daughter of one of our residents and a ceremony on Veteran’s Day to honor all of our Park Terrace Veteran’s. There are also lots of regular daily activities planned and “the more, the merrier” so please join us!

TRICK OR TREAT
October is such a beautiful month in Central New York. All month long we can enjoy the bright yellows, oranges, and reds that Mother Nature sends our way. The colors of the trees definitely make our scenic rides a treat each week. We have all month to look forward to Halloween and think up a great costume to wear to the Park Terrace Halloween Party. Now that the weather is getting colder and a little more unpredictable our trips outside the building will be fewer. We will still have scenic rides and shopping trips and lunches out…this month we will be going to the Canal Walk Café and Chili’s. Inside, Park Terrace will still have lots of activities to keep us all busy and having fun. Please join us for activities…the more the merrier!

Hoping for Indian Summer
Ready or not, fall is coming. It is safe to say that everyone is hoping for a nice, long Indian summer. While everyone really does enjoy the fall weather and the scenery it brings it is always hard to see the end of summer arrive. But here at Park Terrace we have a lot of fun things going on to help make the transition smoother. With the fall comes the start of SU Football. For all of our die hard SU fans (and everyone else too) we will be hosting a tailgate party here for the first game…and all of the games will be on the activity calendars and will be played in the main living room. It will be fun to watch them with a group of fans. This month also brings us National Assisted Living Week… so to celebrate there will be some fun extra events going on. Our scenic drives will be really pretty as we see the beginning of the leaves changing colors…and we will be visiting Abbott’s Farms to see and purchase some local fall produce and goods. While we are hoping for a long season of warm days, the fall is always a wonderful and beautiful time of year.

Enjoying the Sunny Weather
July brought with it lots of hot and sunny days. We certainly deserve them after such a cold winter and rainy spring and we have definitely been enjoying them. Hopefully the sun will keep on shining for us all through August and even into September. It has been so wonderful to see our residents sitting outside and enjoying each others company as much as they are enjoying the weather. There are a lot of outdoor activities planned for the coming month, like our trip to the zoo, and our annual Luau Party. The activities are fun and as always, the more, the merrier…so we will see you all there!
